Disillusioned, Daniel quits his well-paid job in development aid at the UN. According to him aid often inadvertently leads to dependence. "Trade, Not Aid" is his starting point, and so he heads to Africa, not unlike Tintin, with a good business plan. On paper it is a win-win situation for everyone, but in practice things are not so simple. A fascinating documentary about the dilemmas of aid and the gap between idealism and reality.
