Europe, She LovesJan Gassmann

What do today's twentysomethings think about Europe, and how do they feel? At a time when the unity of Europe seems further and further away, young director Jan Gassman makes an intimate portrait of four young couples in Europe.

Siobhan and Terry try to live a drug-free life in Dublin. In Tallinn young mother Veronika wishes that Harri would get along better with her son. Penny is considering leaving her older boyfriend, leaving Thessaloniki and moving to Italy. And in Sevilla, new couple Juan and Caro are fully enjoying a life of love and passion, without thinking of the future.

Just like in a mosaic film, the stories of these four couples are woven together, creating a beautiful intimate time document about twentysomethings today. They share the same concerns and aspirations, and their relationships are often an escape from the social and economic dip their country is experiencing. But there is also joy and partying and sex. It's amazing how close director Gassman gets to the couples. They have no qualms about the camera observing their dreams, weaknesses and intimate moments. In several episodes he is able to capture the essence of their personal attitude in pictures. An intimate glimpse into the heart and soul of young people.
