Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of GodAlex Gibney

Sexual abuse and the Church: it has sadly been a recurring story for several decades now. The Vatican was heavily criticized about the way it responded - or failed to respond - to the many scandals. 'Mea Maxima Culpa' takes an American abuse case in a Milwaukee school for the deaf as the starting point to tell a bigger story. For years and anywhere from Ireland to Italy, the Church played priests' sexual crimes down or did not address them at all. As in his previous films, Oscar winner Alex Gibney tells a big story about abuse and corruption from a personal point of view.
