Stand van de SterrenLeonard Retel Helmrich

This film shows the life of the Christian-Islamic family Sjamsuddin while telling the story of contemporary Indonesia. The contrast between city and country, rich and poor, the influence of globalisation and religion. This film is the last part of a unique trilogy that, just like the two previous parts, has won multiple awards. As this was shot as Single Shot Cinema, the camera zips around: more fly-in-the-air than fly-on-the-wall. The intimacy and sincerity of this gripping story is undeniable.
