The Lost SonsUrsula Macfarlane

When 10-year-old Paul Fronczak goes looking for hidden Christmas presents, he finds something completely different: newspaper clippings from his parents showing that their son had been abducted just after birth and found again as a toddler two years later. Now an adult, Paul investigates to see if he really is who he thinks he is. An amazing real-life thriller.

1964, a hospital in Chicago. Shortly after the birth of their son, a nurse stops by Dora and Chester Fronczak and takes baby Paul away for a routine examination. A little while later it appears that baby Paul has disappeared and the alleged nurse does not actually work at the hospital. A nightmare begins for the new parents; a police investigation and large-scale search yields nothing. Two years later a toddler is left behind at a store. Dora and Chester recognize their kidnapped son in the boy and the FBI - despite some doubts - closes the case. Decades later, DNA techniques offer new possibilities. This surprising real-life thriller raises fundamental questions about our identity and where we belong. The production of The Lost Sons is a collaboration between RAW and CNN Films, who have already made the award-winning documentary Three Identical Strangers, which tells the amazing story of triplets who were separated at birth and later found each other.
