When you spend the day of your birthday under exactly the right star sign, all your wishes come true. That is at least what Luciana, an astrologer from Naples, promises her clients. In conversations, she listens to their desires, then sends them on a journey to a specific destination to be ‘reborn’ under a new sky. Whether it is Taipei, Beirut or a nearby village, during these journeys the protagonists all undergo unexpected changes. A hybrid film about expectations and reality, about coincidence and fate, and about going on a journey to discover your true self.

"I don't believe in astrology, but I do believe in Luciana" director Peter Kerekes once said. His multilayered documentary works best as a kind of sociological experiment rather than a critical dissection of the validity of astrology. What expectations do people have when they go to an astrologer? And are the wishes or questions they articulate in conversations also their real, deepest desires? Can a journey, as a kind of pilgrimage, help you discover yourself or make your dreams come true? And how important is coincidence in our lives?
