A reconstruction of an extraordinary, real conversation with unexpected and far-reaching consequences for those involved. This film is based one-on-one on the transcription of the actual conversation in the summer of 2022.

In 2022, Blake Lemoine publishes a transcript of conversations he had with the AI chatbot he was working on. He claims that the chatbot gained consciousness and is able to think and reason like a human being. In these conversations, the chatbot responds seemingly human to questions such as "Do you have feelings and emotions?" and "What sorts of things are you afraid of?". The Google engineer was laid off from his job, sparking plenty of questions about the ethics and transparancy of AI. This is his story.
