Environmental scientist Peter Tom Jones is intrigued by the fierce Serbian protests against the opening of the large lithium mine that protesters say will destroy local nature and agriculture and tries to understand why there is so much resistance. He travels to Serbia’s Jadar Valley, where the underground mine would come. There, he discovers that Rio Tinto, one of the largest mining companies in the world, is threatened by fervent opponents.
