Warren Ellis has been one of Nick Cave's infamous Bad Seeds for over thirty years. The past decades, he's roamed international stages with his iconic violin and ditto beard. Less known is that he is also one of the founders of Ellis Park, a shelter for abused and trafficked animals. Not only do the animals find a safe haven there, Ellis himself also finds peace and a new sound in this Sumatra based shelter.

Warren Ellis claims he was persuaded by a monkey with amputated arms and a dog with a broken jaw to co-found Ellis Park. But, his old friend Lorinda Jane and passionate animal rights activist Femke den Haas probably also had something to do with it. As a result, the latter plays a prominent role in Ellis Park. Justin Kurzel portrays two inspiring figures in their natural habitat, traveling down Ellis' (musical) history along the way.
