Songs of EarthMargreth Olin

Arctic-blue glaciers, gurgling waterfalls and green mountain slopes. His entire life, filmmaker Margreth Olin's now 84-year-old father has been hiking through the enchanting Norwegian valley of Oldedalen. Over the span of a year, he takes up the role of wise guide and invites her along for the journey, looking to connect with nature and each other.

Director Margreth Olin takes you along for an entire year of her father's travels in the magnificent landscape of the Norwegian Oldedalen valley. He tells stories from generations long gone, about where his ancestors grew up, where they fell in love and started families amidst the whims of nature. Olin has an eye not only for the breathtaking panorama, but also for the silence and serenity that reign amid these rugged mountains and the timeless stories that permeate the valley.
