American photographer Francesca Woodman had everything it takes to become a great artist: natural talent, charisma, drive and ambition. Today her nude photos in black and white are considered milestones. Sadly, she was never able to enjoy the recognition: to everyone’s shock Francesca took her own life on January 19th, 1981. “The Woodmans”, filmed in respectful black and white, tells the story of this tragedy. At the same time, it is a touching portrait of the family Francesca left behind.
