In the hospital, everything has to be cheaper, faster and more efficient. The management places enormous amounts of pressure on the staff. The human connection between doctors and their patients disappears in the background, which causes many doctors to lose any joy in their work. Some get frustrated and short-tempered while others act indifferent to their patients. What follows is a logical consequence. 

 

In 2012, Jérôme Le Maire was present at DOCVILLE with the beautiful 'Le thé ou l'électricité', a film which earned him a nomination for the European Film Award. 

 

While back then, Le Maire focused on a Moroccan community in which time stood still and modernity only entered reluctantly, his focus has now been placed on a world that cannot be reversed any longer. Burning Out paints a shocking image of the perfect breeding ground for a growing problem: a burn out.
